The residents of Kukuo, a community in the Nanumba South District of the , are raising their voices to draw attention to the dire need for improved social amenities, which are crucial for their well-being.

Expressing their concerns, residents emphasized their appeal to both government and non-governmental organizations for essential services that can significantly enhance their quality of life. Specifically, they are calling for the following:

  1. Road Improvement: The community is facing difficulties due to the deteriorating road network, particularly the 14-kilometer road from Kukuo to . This road becomes flooded during rainfall, disrupting transportation and access to markets, which severely impacts local farmers who rely on it.
  2. Potable Drinking Water: The lack of access to clean drinking water is a pressing issue. Although an provided a mechanized borehole to alleviate water problems, it is insufficient to serve all parts of the community.
  3. Health Center Rehabilitation: The health center in the area is in need of refurbishment and improvement to better serve the community's healthcare needs.

Madam Barikisu Abdullah, a farmer from the community, explained that the state of the road severely affects the transportation of farm produce to the market, leading to losses for farmers. She urged authorities to address the road issue to support their livelihoods.

It is apparent that the residents of Kukuo are grappling with significant challenges related to infrastructure and essential services, and they are looking to the authorities and organizations to address these issues for the improvement of their living conditions.
