How to Start an Accounting Firm in Ghana
Are you thinking of starting your own accounting firm in Ghana? You’ll require a practice license. Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) who wish to acquire a practice license should fulfill the following requirements:
- Be in good standing with the ICAG
- At least four (4) years practical experience and two (2) years post-qualification experience
- Referees should be members in public practice and should have worked with or supervised the applicant’s work
- If a member has practical experience with a foreign Accounting and Audit Firm while in a foreign country, he or she will be required to have two (2) years practical experience with a local Accounting and Audit Firm.
- Any member who has no practical experience with a foreign Accounting and Audit Firm will be required to have four (4) years practical experience with a local Accounting and Audit firm.
