Chris Hughton has arrived in Ghana with the hope of occupying the position of the Black Stars coach.
The former Nottingham Forest coach was part of coaches that popped up to take over the managerial job after the dismissal Milovan Rajevac of Milovan Rajevac as mentioned in earlier reports from Ghanaian Standard.
Chris Hughton will therefore meet with the executive council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) during his time in the country.
The 63-year-old was born by an Irish woman but of Ghanaian descent through his father. According to Joy Sports, a high ranking member of the government is pushing for the appointment of the former Norwich City manager as the next head coach of the senior national team.
Meanwhile, the GFA’s executive council have a different option for the job according to unconfirmed reports. Names including the Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo, Aston Villa youth coach George Boateng and former Cameroon assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko are part of people yet to be considered for the coaching job.

The GFA fired Milovan Rajevac following the abysmal performance at AFCON2021. The National team was evicted at the Group stages with one point after a 3-2 defeat to Comoros. This is the first time since 2006 that the Black Stars have been evicted from the AFCON in the group stages.
The Serbian coach was appointed for the second time in September last year.
