Nyamekye pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing and was convicted on his own plea.

However, the sentence was deferred till July 19, 2022.

The Court presided over by Mr Mark Diboro Tairima, therefore, remanded him into prison custody.

Police Chief Inspector Christian Osborn Amartey told the Court that Ebenezer Manu, the Complainant, was a film actor whilst Nyamekye, a film director and that they had been working together for some time.

He said on Monday, June 25, 2022, Nyamekye visited Manu in his house and whilst they were conversing, he (the convict) took one of the complainant’s room keys on his blind side and went away.

Chief Inspector Amartey said two days later at about 1730 hours, Nyamekye went back to the complainant’s house and used the key he took to open his door, stole GH¢ 4,800.00 and a flat screen television valued at GHC 1,860.00.

The prosecution said one Mariam Aminu, a witness in the case, spotted Nyamekye and she raised the alarm.

He said Nyamekye took to his heels with the flat screen television.

The prosecution said the complainant was informed about it and he subsequently lodged an official complaint with the police.

The Court heard that on July 05, 2022, Nyamekye was arrested from his hideout.

He admitted the offence in his cautioned statement.
