Fifty female students of Dormaa Senior High School (SHS) have engaged in a tree planting exercise to beautify the frontage of the Circuit Court building at Dormaa Ahenkro in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region.

The students were led by their Biology Teacher, Madam Frances Ofori Kae Yeboah to plant 50 royal palm seedlings and 10 other tree seedlings to hedge the forecourt of the Court building.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Stephen Amoah, the Court Registrar said the seedlings were provided by the Dormaa District Office of the Forestry Commission (FC).

He said the exercise was part of efforts to create a beautiful, attractive, and conducive court environment needed for smooth delivery of judicial services.

Mr Amoah, on behalf of Mr Samuel Djanie Kotey, the judge in charge and the entire staff of the court expressed appreciation to the Headmaster and Management of the Dormaa SHS for releasing the students to assist with the planting.

Madam Yeboah said that the move by the court was significant because it formed part of the government’s Green Ghana Project (GGP) being spearheaded by the FC.

She gave assurance that the school was ever ready to contribute to the success of the GGP.

She said the seedlings if nurtured well would become economic, medicinal, and aesthetic values and therefore encourage the public to plant them.
