Foundation launched to drive human development
ShareTweetSend

Transbrew International Foundation, a non-profit organisation which focuses on the transformation of people and society, has been launched in Kumasi.

The Foundation also seeks to contribute to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Human Development Agenda and champion the Human Development Index (HDI) in society in tandem with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Equipping for Transformation,” was the theme chosen for launch.

Mr Bright Kwaku Agyemang, Founder of the Foundation, underlined the need for deliberate efforts to promote societal development not only to transform societies but also the individual through an effective and impactful education system.

The Foundation, he indicated, would embark on diverse programmes and projects aimed at advancing the SDGs and HDI initiatives globally.

The Foundation would engage corporate organisations to mobilise resources to advance the actualisation of the attainment to the SDGs and HDI in order to transform individuals and societies, he noted.

Dr David Okoh Kpeglo, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, said Africa was experiencing a critical shortage of skilled, technical, and specialised workforce, particularly in Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Mathematics (STEAM) and applauded the focus of the Foundation.

He said STEAM education was one of the pivotal tools that could equip the next generation with the needed skills to transform societies and the world at large.

He emphasised that the most important field of study that would drive the socio-economic development of Africa received little attention, thereby, hindering accelerated development.

Dr Kpeglo encouraged the Foundation to help drive the next generation with the desire and enthusiasm to pursue a great model of STEAM education.
