Black Bombers eye seven medals at 13th African Games

The national amateur team, the Black Bombers, is on the brink of clinching seven medals as they wrap up their campaign in the 13th this evening at the Bukom Arena.

Out of the 16 boxers initially entered into the competition, five have successfully qualified for the finals in their respective weight categories, ensuring them at least a silver or a gold medal. These boxers include Mohammed Aryeetey (Minimumweight -48Kg), Amadu Mohammed (Bantamweight -54Kg), Joseph Commey (Lightweight -60Kg), Samuel Takyi (Lightweight -63.5Kg), and Abubakar Kamoko (Cruiserweight -86Kg).

Additionally, two other boxers, Janet Acquah (Minimum weight -48Kg) and Theophilus Allotey (Flyweight -51kg), although they faced tough competition on Thursday night and failed to advance to the finals, are assured of bronze medals.

The Black Bombers' remarkable performance showcases their skill and determination on the continental stage, positioning them as strong contenders for multiple medals.
