Ghana, along with 23 other nations, has submitted its 55-man provisional list to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in preparation for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast.
The submission, by tournament regulations, allows participating teams to identify potential players for the final squad.
The statement released by CAF revealed that, as per the regulations, each qualified Member Association is required to submit a provisional list of no more than 55 players by December 14, 2023.
The Organising Committee of CAF has increased the final squad list from the initial 23 to 27 players, although only 23 players will be eligible for selection in each match during the tournament.
The deadline for the submission of the final squad is set for January 3, 2024. The 2023 AFCON tournament is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Ivory Coast.
As the countdown to the continental football spectacle continues, participating nations are actively scouting for the best players to represent their countries in this highly anticipated event.
