The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has elected five new members to represent Premier League clubs on its Executive Council.
The election, which took place in Tamale, saw Dr. Ransford Abbey, James Kwesi Appiah (former Black Stars Coach), Frederick Acheampong, and Nana Sarfo Oduro emerge as victors, securing 12, 10, 11, and 10 votes, respectively, in the hotly contested race.
Two other candidates, Elloyney Amande and Kingsley Osei Bonsu, each secured nine votes, leading to a runoff to determine the fifth member to join the Executive Council.
However, the first runoff saw both candidates tied with nine votes each once more.
In the final round of runoff elections, Kingsley Osei Bonsu emerged victorious, securing 12 votes, while Elloyney Amande garnered six votes. Kingsley Osei Bonsu thus completed the list of five members selected to represent the Premier League on the Executive Council of the GFA.
