In an official release, the Controller and Accountant Generals' Department (CAGD) has informed all Government of Ghana (GoG) employees of new procedures regarding changes to telephone numbers and requests requiring the termination of an e-payslip user account.
Effective immediately, the CAGD emphasizes that any such requests must be submitted in writing. The written request should be accompanied by a letter from the Head of Department (HOD) or Human Resources (HR) and supported by a copy of either the Ghana card or the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) card. These documents are to be submitted to any CAGD Regional office for further processing and subsequent submission to Treasury Headquarters.
The statement reads, “Dear GoG Employee, Kindly note that henceforth a request for telephone number change and any other request that requires termination of e-payslip user account shall be made in writing accompanied by a letter from the HOD/HR and supported by a copy of the Ghana card/SSNIT card to be submitted to any CAGD Regional office for onward submission to Treasury Headquarters.”
This new directive from the CAGD suggests a heightened level of scrutiny and verification for any changes or requests related to employee information and e-payslip accounts.
The specified requirements, including the need for written requests and supporting documentation, indicate a move towards a more secure and accountable process for managing employee data within the government payroll system.
