A clash between students of Ngleshie Amanfrom Senior High School (NASEC) and Christian Methodist Senior High School has resulted in the tragic deaths of two students. The incident occurred during a Student Representative Council (SRC) week celebration at Block Factory on the Accra-Kasoa Highway in the Greater Accra Region.
The cause of the clash remains unknown, although reports indicate that tensions began escalating last week on Friday before erupting into violence again on Tuesday. According to eyewitness accounts, the confrontation saw students from both schools engaging in destructive behaviour, resulting in the loss of lives and property.
Akwesi Owusu, an eyewitness, recounted that the initial clash on Friday led to the destruction of three vehicles. He further stated that students from Christian Methodist SHS launched an attack on NASEC students, sparking retaliation from the latter group.
The situation escalated as students from both schools engaged in violent confrontations, leading to tragic consequences. Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the clashes and are investigating the incident.
