Mr Mark Affum Amoamah, President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), has advised graduates of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to be ambassadors of integrity in the logistics and transportation sector. Speaking at the graduation ceremony for the Advanced Diploma and Diploma in Logistics and Transport in Accra, Amoamah urged the graduates to make a positive impact in the evolving industry and compete on a global scale.
The ceremony, a collaboration between GIMPA and CILT, celebrated graduates who not only gained knowledge but also acquired professional ethics essential for navigating the professional world. Amoamah encouraged the graduates to embrace change, emphasizing their role as ambassadors of integrity.
He applauded the graduates as a testament to the vision of excellence, urging them to remain connected and build networks to contribute to the growth of the logistics and transportation sectors. Amoamah highlighted the importance of long-term partnerships in fostering industry growth.
Member of Parliament for Tema West, Mr Carlos Ahenkorah, commended GIMPA for maintaining standards of excellence in higher education and emphasized the vital role of logistics and transportation in the country's socio-economic development. Ahenkorah encouraged collaboration and learning among graduates to enhance the industry.
Professor Samuel Bonsu, Rector of GIMPA, stressed the crucial role played by the logistics and transport sector in facilitating economic development, particularly during the challenges of COVID-19. He expressed hope that the graduates were well-equipped to drive innovation and efficiency in the sector.
Professor Charles Amoatey, Director of GIMPA Training and Consulting, highlighted the program's impact since its introduction in 2004, with over 4,000 students graduating and contributing meaningfully to society. He emphasized that graduates were equipped with knowledge of artificial intelligence, digitization, machine learning, and entrepreneurship to ensure efficiency in the sector.
On behalf of the graduates, Mr. Felix Osei Tutu expressed gratitude to the faculty and supporters. He urged the leadership of CILT to expand the program across the country, pledging the graduates' commitment to contributing their knowledge to the development of the logistics and transportation sector.
