In collaboration with the New Juaben South assembly, the chief, and his subjects as well as Mr Isaac Apau Gyasi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), with support from Zoomlion, the team desilted gutters and swept the central business district and some principal streets to make the environment clean.
“Akwasidae” is a traditional day celebrated on a Sunday, once every six weeks by the Akans in the significance of commemorating the ancestors.
Nana Kwaku Boateng, urged the public to dispose of waste in a responsible way by making use of waste bins to maintain a clean environment always.
The MCE cautioned the residents against the act of dumping waste in gutters, explaining that it choked the gutters leading to flooding when it rained.
“The Assembly will spare no stone in enforcing by-laws on sanitation and has tasked the Environmental Health unit to process offenders to court to serve as detergent,” he noted.
