The two groups known as, the Bombom group and the Kumordzie group, are led by Ali Awudu and Ibrahim Husein respectively.
This comes after a violent clash on the streets of Nima between the two groups on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
At a media briefing, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kwesi Ofori said “The kingpins, the actual chief executives of these criminal gangs, we are doing everything possible to make sure we pursue them, get them, investigate them and charge them for court. The police administration has placed GH₵20,000 on their heads.
Anybody who offers credible information that leads to their arrest will be given that amount. Therefore, it is our wish that members of the public will collaborate with the police to enable us to get them to face justice.”
ACP Kwesi Ofori said that pictures of the leaders of the two groups will be made available to the general public to support investigations.
The police revealed that the two have been closely watched over the last two years. The Nima Police Division has warned and sanctioned the two groups.
Meanwhile, two persons have been arrested in Ashalaja in addition to the seven persons that were initially arrested.
Per reports from police investigations, no injured persons have lost their lives but three are currently on admission at the hospital, while other victims have decided to seek medical attention at home.
This development comes after the police retrieved some weapons from the nine suspects.
