Mr Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Mampong had admitted in a recent NPP conference that he honestly believes breaking the 8 is nearly impossible as per the situation on the ground.
In a passionate address to his compatriots, the Mampong MP subjected his hearers to a moment of truth session as he admitted that the situation on the ground regarding the condition of literally every Ghanaians is was not good at all.
Mr Sarpong said breakingthe task was herculean task. He said “We are going to change destiny, we are going to make history. We are going to ‘break the 8“”.
Then comes the shocking admission, “Today, we know what the situation is on the ground. I will tell you honestly, if there should be elections today, NPP, yebe lose potoo” meaning NPP we will lose miserably”. In reaction to this, the audience could be head responding “Bo ho bio!”, meaning ‘say it again’! Clearly showing how they all agreed with the Mampong MP.
He then gave his reason for making such cliams; “Black is black, white is White, I will say it like it is. I am on the ground, I hear what my constituents are saying, I know what is going on, I know what they’re saying out there in Accra, all over, intelligentsia, middle class, lower class, you name it”
He then ended by saying “breaking the 8” which is a captain for breaking the 8-year ruling party jinx experienced in Ghana for decades now, as an a near impossibility. “Today, I’m talking about today’s matter. Today, we have an uphill task, Big task! It’s very hard “breaking the 8″. We say we want to break the 8, yes” he said.
