Kwame Bediako, the founder of the New Force political movement, has emphasized the importance of industrial independence as a catalyst for job creation and prosperity in the nation. During his regional “listening tour” in the Volta Region, Bediako engaged with traditional rulers and youth groups, advocating for a shift from raw material exportation to local production.
As an independent presidential candidate, Bediako outlined his vision for an industrial revolution centred on the sustainable exploitation of the country's mineral wealth and support for local businesses and startups. He highlighted the disparity between Ghana's reliance on imported finished goods and China's focus on local production, stressing the need for job creation within the country.
Bediako pledged to provide seed capital for all startups and to develop the nation's mineral resources for the benefit of all citizens. He expressed his commitment to raising more millionaires in Ghana and called for support in the upcoming general elections to realize his vision.
During his engagement at the Ho Technical University, Bediako addressed the challenges faced by young graduates in finding employment and assured them of his plans to create job opportunities through industrialization.
Bediako's vision also includes the interconnection of the nation's water bodies to develop water transportation, with a focus on utilizing the Volta Lake. He visited industrial zones and the Ho central market, receiving support and admiration from the public.
Bediako's advocacy for industrial independence resonates with the need to strengthen local industries, create employment opportunities, and drive economic growth in Ghana.
