A policewoman, identified as Comfort Freby has been killed at a checkpoint on the Kasoa-Apam highway in the Central Region.

The 29-year-old policewoman is reported to have been hit by a speeding Toyota vehicle with registration number, GS 4746-20 this dawn.

According to the police, the driver failed to stop when he got to the checkpoint and ran into the deceased policewoman killing her on the spot.

The news has hit hard on officers at the Gomoa-Dominase District Police Command since the barrier was established just last week after a series of robbery cases were recorded on the highway.

Meanwhile, officers of the Central Regional Police Commander have visited the deceased’s home to empathize with her family.

However, information on the driver is yet unknown. The Ghanaian Standard will continue to update you on further developments.
