Project Kiks, an international partnership project working to sustain the livelihood of families, has donated food items to some less privileged families at Bunbong in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region.
The items included six bags of corn and six gallons of cooking oil among other cooking ingredients.
The gesture was to minimise the incidence of hunger and starvation as well as to support them through this farming season.
Mr Jagba Abraham Biladom, Country Director of Project Kiks, who spoke during the presentation of the items to the beneficiaries at Bunbong, said “It is an annual donation, which is being organised by Project Kiks and its partners to help cushion families in anticipation of the next harvest from their farms.”
He said: “The project, over the period, has been a strategic initiative, which does not only minimise hunger but also help in reducing extreme poverty, abuse and domestic violence amongst beneficiaries.”
Beneficiaries commended Project Kiks and partners for the gesture saying, “It has become an alternative source of livelihood, which supports us against seeking alms on the streets.”
