The Tinkong Traditional Council under the Benkum Division of Akuapem Traditional Area has installed a 55-year-old businesswoman as first Dabehemea of the area.
Nana Abena Oduraa I, known in private life as Mrs Abigail Osei Peprah, would be responsible for the fashion and appearance of the Tinkong Queen mother, traditionally.
Nana Wontumi Toprah IV, the Chief of Tinkong, explained that the core duties of the Dabehemea are like a maid of honour, who ensures that the bride was always looking exceptional.
He noted that honesty, humility, truthfulness, obedience, respectfulness and a sense of fashion were qualities considered in the selection of Dabehemea or Dabehene.
The new queen has assured that she will fulfil her duties as the fashion consultant to the queen mother with hard work and humility to lift the image of the area.
