A maiden Annual Ghana Media Music and Dinner Night event has been held to celebrate and acknowledge media practitioners in the country for their works in informing, educating and entertaining the public.
Ms Rebecca Ekpe, Communications Manager, Annual Ghana Media Music and Dinner Night, said the event was instituted to recognise excellence in journalism.
She stated that they intended to provide a platform for journalists to socialise and interact with their counterparts locally and internationally.
Ms Ekpe said the event also sought to discover and invest in the art and act of journalism while creating opportunities and knowledge sharing among practitioners.
“We have the vision to invest in the media and expose journalists to a world of endless opportunities.”
Mr Albert Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association, commended the organisers of the event, saying, “Journalists were going the extra mile to bring information to the doorstep of the citizenry, so it is right and prudent for them to be recognised.”
He said the Association would continue to protect the interests and welfare of journalists in nation-building.
The event brought together stakeholders and associates in the media fraternity for a night of music and dinner in celebration of journalists.
