Ghanaian dancehall artiste Livingston Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has thrown his support behind the 2022 Green Ghana Project, with a firm promise to campaign and galvanize nationwide support for the initiative.
During a meeting with the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Samuel Abu Jinapor in Accra, the musician gave the assurance.
In a statement, Stonebwoy lauded the Government for initiating the Green Ghana project, saying; “The exercise is a call to save the environment from global warming”.
The musician vowed to use his social media handles, with more than a thousand followers to raise awareness about the project.
Stonebwoy assured of his commitment as a campaigner for environmental protection to do everything humanely possible to ensure the government succeeded in restoring the country’s lost forest cover.
Mr. Jinapor, on his part, lauded the musician for using his influence to promote a good cause.
The Minister eulogised Stonebwoy for the gesture, describing it as “an outstanding show of patriotism” and reminded Ghanaians to always protect the environment.
He urged Ghanaians to participate in the 2022 Green Ghana Day slated for June 10.
He said the protection of the environment had no political, religious or ethnic undertone and, therefore, should be patronised by everybody, saying;
“The Green Ghana project is one of the policies designed by the government to protect the country’s forest cover”.
