Deputy Minister of Education, John Ntim-Fordjour, has pledged unwavering support to crack down on bullying in Senior High Schools following a troubling incident at Adisadel College.
During an appearance on the Metro TV show, Good Morning Ghana, Ntim-Fordjour emphasized that the recent video depicting an act of violence between two students at Adisadel College would not be treated as an isolated case but as a matter involving all schools.
“While I will be very cautious not to generalize this occurrence to even the entire Adisadel Fraternity, I would want to say that we are also not leaving any stone unturned if there may be any such culture that has been inherent in that particular house, or any other house or any other school. We want to go to the bottom of it and not just deal with it as a viral video,” he stated.
Mr. Ntim Fordjour reassured the public that boarding schools in Ghana are still safe for students. He emphasized that as a parent, one should feel secure knowing that the right, positive, and conducive environment has been put in place to support a student's learning without fear of bullying or any form of harassment.
“That is an assurance we are giving, and we are going to take every measure to ensure that what has happened will reveal anything that needs to be unravelled,” he added.
The Deputy Minister's commitment to addressing the issue of bullying on campuses comes in the wake of a disturbing incident at Adisadel College.
