The Odomase Number One Traditional Council in the Sunyani West Municipality has appealed to the government to release funds promptly for the completion of the Agenda 111 District Hospital in the area. Despite this, they expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa's government for initiating the project, citing the urgent need for it due to rapid population growth in the municipality.
Osabarima Kwabena Yeboah, the Krontihene (Deputy Chief) and Acting President of the Odomase Number Two Traditional Area, made the appeal after inspecting the progress of work on the hospital project. He commended the contractors for the quality of work but urged them to expedite the process to ensure completion before the 2024 elections.
Additionally, Osabarima Yeboah called on the government to improve the road infrastructure leading to the hospital site and other access roads in the Odomase Number One and Odomase Number Two townships.
Nana Yaa Poduo II, the Paramount Queen Mother of the Area, emphasized the importance of strong relationships between the chiefs and contractors to address any challenges that may arise during the project's execution. She assured the community's commitment to supporting the project's completion to enhance healthcare delivery.
Mr. Joseph Amissah, Head of the Project from Consar Construction Company, provided an update on the construction progress, indicating that the project was 40 percent complete. He pledged to finish by the year's end and encouraged regular site visits by the council to motivate workers and address emerging issues promptly.
The project encompasses various facilities, including wards, administration blocks, outpatient departments, laboratories, and more, with significant progress reported across different sections.
In a gesture of appreciation, the council presented bottled water to the contractors.
