Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin South, has refuted allegations that he engaged in vote buying during the recently held Assin North by-election in the Central Region.
He firmly denied the claims and urged the public to disregard them.
In a Facebook post on Friday, June 30, the Deputy Education Minister accused Joshua Akamba, the former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), of spreading false information.
Responding to the allegations, Reverend Ntim Fordjour stated, “My attention has been drawn to a false and malicious allegation made by Joshua Akamba. I wish to state categorically that I never engaged in vote buying neither did I share money nor goods before or during Assin North by-election.”
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has already dismissed claims of inducing voters during the by-election.
The opposition NDC had accused the NPP of offering money to constituents in order to influence their votes in favor of Charles Opoku, the NPP candidate.
Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the NPP, labeled these claims as false.
