Yussif Basigi, Head Coach of Ghana's U-20 women's national team, the Black Princesses, has expressed his commitment to securing qualification for the 2024 U-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia.
Coach Basigi and the team are currently in a training camp in Prampram, gearing up for their second-round qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
The first leg of this two-legged tie will be held on Sunday, October 8, at Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau.
Speaking about the upcoming qualifiers, Coach Basigi emphasized that the Black Princesses would not underestimate any opponent.
“Our game against Guinea-Bissau would be the first game, and we are not underestimating any opponent, but we would work hard and take it game after game,” he stated.
Coach Basigi also noted the ongoing improvement in the players' performance during their training camp and expressed confidence in their readiness to deliver.
He highlighted the selection process, mentioning players from the Middle League and second-chance data-based players who are putting in commendable efforts.
“Cutting the team down to the final squad won't be easy and will be based on performance, so my technical team will be objective in settling on the final squad,” he added.
Furthermore, Coach Basigi promised an enhanced performance from his players during the WAFU B tournament, which took place in Kumasi.
The Black Princesses are determined to secure their spot in the 2024 U-20 Women's World Cup, and their coach's commitment underscores their determination to achieve this goal.
