Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister, urged graduates at the eighth congregation of the (UENR) to integrate principles of integrity and ethics into their professions, emphasizing the broader impact on societal development.

Addressing the graduates at the theme-themed ceremony, “Fostering Future Leaders via Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Education,” Madam Owusu-Banahene underscored the significance of applying integrity and ethics as guiding principles, noting that it demonstrated a profound commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

A total of 2,451 students graduated from UENR, comprising 2,159 bachelor's degree recipients, 178 diploma awardees, and 114 postgraduate qualifiers.

Madam Owusu-Banahene stressed the holistic impact of STEAM education, emphasizing that beyond individual accomplishments, it nurtured a mindset valuing inquiry, embracing challenges, and appreciating collaboration.

She highlighted the development of critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and effective communication skills as integral components of STEAM education.

Encouraging graduates to approach their careers responsibly, the Regional Minister emphasized that their choices, innovations, and advocated policies would shape their future trajectories.

Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako, Vice-Chancellor of UENR, celebrated the University's commitment to quality education and academic growth.

He announced the admission of over 4,000 students during the 2022/2023 Academic Year and highlighted accreditation for a range of new programs from diplomas to Ph.D.

Prof. Asare-Bediako outlined ongoing developmental projects, including the transformation of Syndicate Hall into a modern Demonstration Room, a state-of-the-art Sports Complex (Phase 1), a multi-purpose office block, UENR Hospital Phase 1, completion of Pavilion Block 1A, and the conversion of Syndicate Hall 1 into a modern computer laboratory.

Encouraging graduates to embark on a journey of research with passion, he advised them to become beacons of light for their communities, unlocking doors to a future of hope and success.
