Chiana Paramount Chief prioritizes road development in electoral choices: Ghana News

The Chiana Pio, Pe Ditundini Adiali Ayagitam III, of the Chiana Traditional Area, has emphasized that the voting choices of his people in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections will be influenced by candidates committed to transforming their lives through infrastructure development, particularly the Chuchuliga-Chiana-Tumu roads.

Despite previous appeals to the government for road construction, Chiana Pio expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of practical interventions. At this year's Fao festival, he stated, “We will vote based on who is willing to partner with us to transform our lives.

We will vote for those who hear our cry to fix our roads, thereby improving our economic activities, increasing incomes, and bettering the standard of living of my people.”

He lamented the deteriorating state of the Chuchuliga-Chiana road and called attention to the continuous neglect by the government. The underscored the road's vital role in facilitating economic activities and enhancing the lives of the people.

The festival, chaired by the Paramount Chief of the Traditional Area, Zugraan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, focused on the theme: “Creating awareness on and environmental protection in the zone: The role of cultural festivals and community-based practices.”

Pe Ayagitam III reiterated the need for a separate district and constituency for Chiana, expressing disappointment in the government's lack of commitment to address these concerns. He urged the government to take immediate steps to rehabilitate the road.

Parliamentary candidates from both the New Patriotic Party () and the National Democratic Congress () supported the chief's call for road development.

Mr. Robert Apechira Aloo, the 's Parliamentary Candidate, assured the community that the road project was underway, though progress was slow.

Mr. Nikyema Billa Alamzy, the 's Parliamentary Candidate, highlighted their efforts before 2016 and promised to complete the project if the party regained power.
