In a significant development, two prominent figures, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of the United Denominations of Action Chapel Churches Worldwide, and Reverend Eastwood Anaba, President of Eastwood Anaba Ministries, have tendered their resignations from the Board of Trustees of Ghana's .

The decision comes after concerns regarding the delay in conducting an audit of the cathedral's finances.

In a letter addressed to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa , President of Ghana, the two religious leaders expressed their deep respect for the vision of the and their shared commitment to its realization.

They initially sought an appointment with the President to discuss the cathedral but had not been successful in securing a meeting due to the demanding national and international responsibilities on his shoulders.

The crux of their resignation is rooted in a lack of action regarding an audit of public funds contributed to the National Cathedral. In January 2023, as Trustees of the Board, they submitted a resolution recommending the deferment of activities related to the cathedral's construction until the findings of an audit were available.

They urged the appointment of an independent accounting firm to ensure transparency and accountability.

Regrettably, the requested audit has not been initiated, despite their hopes and prayers.

In light of their “conscience and faith,” the two religious leaders felt compelled to resign from the Board of Trustees, emphasizing that their action should not be seen as a critique of the cathedral's vision but rather as a means to ensure it is built on a foundation of integrity, efficiency, and quality while maintaining public trust and support.

The letter reaffirms their belief in the President's vision for the National Cathedral as a sacred space for various national and international events and gatherings aimed at fostering faith, peace, reconciliation, and stability.

They trust that President 's dream of the cathedral, which supports tourism as an economic pillar, will eventually be realized.

The letter concludes by expressing prayers and best wishes to President Akufo-Addo and the Board of Trustees, thanking them for the opportunity to serve the nation.
