Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu expressed confidence in the Black Stars' focus as they prepare for their upcoming match against Mozambique.
Despite securing a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Egypt, Salisu emphasized the team's determination to secure a much-needed win in their third group encounter.
In a post-match interview, Salisu acknowledged the team's disappointment in not securing a victory against Egypt but emphasized their commitment to making amends in the next game.
“We are not really under pressure, but we need to give everything, and I think we will get the win,” he stated.
Salisu refused to place blame on any individual for the two goals conceded in the Egypt clash, highlighting the collective nature of football as a team sport.
Addressing areas for improvement ahead of the Mozambique encounter, Salisu pointed out the need to enhance their second-half performance, particularly when fatigue sets in.
“We need to improve on our second half, especially when the fatigue sets in, and we need to give more energy in the second half, especially when the energy level drops,” he explained.
The Black Stars are gearing up for the crucial clash against Mozambique at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on Monday, January 22, 2024, with Salisu expressing optimism in the team's ability to secure victory.
