The National Communications Authority (NCA) has unveiled its inaugural five-year strategic plan, designed to shape and enhance the organization's operations from 2024 to 2028.
The strategic blueprint focuses on Research, Innovation, and Process Improvement; Stakeholder Coordination and Engagement; Human Resource Strengthening; and Resource Management.
Developed between December 2022 and April 2023, the plan aims to boost productivity, align goals with resources, improve communication and collaboration, and enhance staff welfare.
Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II, Board Chairman of NCA, highlighted the strategic plan's critical role in guiding the authority's operations, urging stakeholders to collaborate for its seamless implementation.
“The five-year strategic plan would be a crucial communication tool for internal and external stakeholders, it will empower staff to hold the board and management accountable and likewise empower licensees and authorization holders, partners, and the public with adequate information to hold the authority accountable,” stated Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II.
Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, emphasized the NCA's commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusivity.
She acknowledged the evolving technological landscape, stating that the NCA must remain alert and focused to support the growth and development of the communications ecosystem.
Dr. Joe Anokye, Director General of NCA, hailed the five-year Strategic Plan as a significant milestone, marking a transformative journey toward innovation, growth, and lasting impact on the communication industry and the nation.
“This Strategic Plan, we are certain, will amongst others enhance productivity, align the Authority's goals with its resources, enhance communication and collaboration, and also improve staff welfare,” noted Dr. Joe Anokye.
