The Ahafo Regional Office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) organized a sensitization campaign at the Goaso market, educating traders on the significance of the ‘MyNHIS' mobile application.
The initiative is part of the NHIA's 20th-anniversary celebration under the theme “Health Heroes: 20 Years Strong.”
The campaign's primary goal is to guide individuals in downloading the ‘MyNHIS' app on smartphones, enabling first-time registration, account renewal, and offering other convenient health insurance services.
The event kicked off with a float through the main streets of Goaso, culminating in one-on-one educational sessions between NHIA staff and traders at the market.
Mr. Alexander Fordjour, the Ahafo Regional Director of NHIA, expressed satisfaction with the positive response from the public, indicating their belief in the accessibility of the health insurance scheme.
He encouraged District and Municipal managers to replicate the campaign in their respective areas to enroll more individuals onto the scheme.
Ms. Dora Oduro, a trader from Mim, shared her excitement about the ‘NHIS App,' anticipating that it would bring convenience to its users.
Mr. Sampson Oppong, another trader, expressed his intention to register now that the application had been introduced, citing its convenience and stress-free nature.
The traders acknowledged the potential benefits of the ‘NHIS App' and expressed their willingness to embrace this technological advancement in accessing health insurance services.
The NHIA's effort aligns with the broader goal of enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of health services for the public.
