Dr Emmanuel Osei Boateng, an aspiring member of parliament on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ticket in the Ahafo Ano South-East Constituency, emphasizes the importance of electing a candidate with broad appeal beyond the party's internal processes.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Dr Osei Boateng highlighted his close connection with various communities in the constituency, built over years of active engagement.
As the Chief Executive Officer of the O. B. Foundation, he has been instrumental in supporting communities, especially in health and education.
“I have a strong connection with the people,” he asserted, underlining the need for a candidate who resonates with the masses to attract floating voters and enhance the party's chances in the upcoming elections.
Dr Boateng, known for his philanthropic work during the COVID-19 pandemic, expressed confidence in being the best aspirant to represent the party in the constituency. He plans to focus on agriculture and education to improve livelihoods and accelerate development.
Prioritizing agriculture, he aims to promote mechanized farming by bringing in investors and bridging the gap between farmers and the Department of Food and Agriculture.
This initiative seeks to encourage modern and climate-smart farming practices and establish processing facilities to add value to farm produce.
To address challenges faced by local farmers, Dr Boateng intends to build a warehouse for storing excess grains and non-perishable foods, allowing farmers ample time to market their produce without exploitation.
Additionally, he plans to organize sporting and entertainment events to unearth the talents of the youth and nurture them to reach their potential.
Dr Boateng urged delegates to endorse him on January 27, emphasizing his commitment to grassroots connections and community-driven development initiatives.
