SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, in collaboration with partners including the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs, and the Ghana TVET Service, has organized a Curriculum Vitae (CV) Review Clinic aimed at assisting employment seekers in fine-tuning their CVs for better job market prospects.
This two-day CV Review Clinic is part of the Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana (GrEEn) Project, funded by the European Union in Ghana and co-implemented by SNV and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).
The event serves as a precursor to the 2023 GrEEn Regional Job Fair, themed “Career Prospects in TVET: The Nexus of Green Jobs for Inclusive Transformational Development.”
Ms. Smallie Lomotey, the Communication Advisor on the GrEEn Project, explained that representatives from the Labour Department would provide participants with insights into Ghana's labor laws, workers' rights, protection, and privileges during the CV Review Clinic.
The upcoming job fair aims to connect potential employers and recruiters with job seekers in the region.
SNV has been actively engaged in organizing GrEEn Job Fairs since 2020. These fairs, held at both the district and regional levels, aim to provide CV support, career guidance, and counseling, and connect job seekers with green employers.
The initiative seeks to promote the creation of green jobs and facilitate the matching of job seekers with sustainable employment opportunities.
SNV's district-level GrEEn Job Fairs have been organized in partnership with Municipal and District Assemblies in the Ashanti Region and Western Region, reaching hundreds of job seekers.
The organization has also partnered with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and various government ministries and agencies to host regional-level GrEEn Job Fairs.
The 2023 GrEEn Regional Job Fair will mark the project's final event as it concludes at the end of the year.
SNV is a global development partner dedicated to strengthening capacities and catalyzing partnerships to transform agri-food, energy, and water systems across Africa and Asia for sustainable and equitable livelihoods.
The GrEEn Project is implemented under the European Union Emergency Trust Fund (EUTF) for Africa, with a total contribution of EUR 20,600,000.
