A middle-aged man committed suicide by electrocution after climbing the Gridco/VRA pylons in Saki, located in the Nmlitsakpo Electoral area of the Kpone-Katamanso municipality in the Greater Accra Region.
The man's identity is currently unknown and the incident occurred around 5:45 pm on Sunday evening.
Upon arrival at the scene, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) noticed a crowd of residents who had gathered to witness the incident.
The victim rode to the scene on a bicycle, and residents and passersby remain perplexed as to what might have led the man to take his life in such a gruesome manner.
The police are finding it difficult to trace the identity or relatives of the deceased, as he is unknown to the community.
A joint police team from the Tema Regional Command and the Tema Community 25 Unit of the Ghana Police Service have conveyed the man's lifeless body to the hospital for autopsy and preservation.
According to a police source, the police have started an investigation and are asking the public with any information to contact the Tema Regional Command.
