ITTF expert commends Ghana Table Tennis Association for Olympic Solidarity Training

Mohammed Ameen Mahammed Atoum, an International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Expert, has lauded the (GTTA) and its President, Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, for the successful organization of the Olympic Solidarity Practical Training for athletes.

In his remarks to the media, Mr. Atoum praised the efforts of President Afadzinu, coaches, technical directors, and players for their dedication to the program, emphasizing its potential to promote and develop table tennis not only in Ghana but also beyond.

“I must congratulate the President of the association, the coaches, technical directors, and the players for this great program, and I also appreciate the media for supporting and promoting the sport,” Mr. Atoum stated.

He highlighted the significance of the training program in preparing players for the and enhancing their talent. Mr Atoum noted the players' passion for the game, practising twice a day for three hours each, a dedication he praised.

After the practical training, the players are set to undergo two trial games before camping for the continental sports festival in March, according to Mr. Atoum. He expressed satisfaction with the increased confidence levels of the players compared to 2014, acknowledging the determination of some players to become future African or world champions.

The ITTF Expert emphasized the need for investment in the sport, stating, “You need to invest because that is the key in table tennis, and you also need to go for international events as well.”
