TEWU-TUC Ghana General Secretary advocates for support to the vulnerable

Mr Mark Dankyira Korankye, the General Secretary of the and Educational Workers Union of Trades Union Congress, Ghana (-TUC Ghana), has emphasized the importance of inspiring and supporting the vulnerable in society to develop their talents for national progress.

During a presentation to the Dzorwulu Special School in to mark his 60th birthday, Mr Korankye underscored the significance of assisting the vulnerable, emphasizing that even small gestures mean a lot to them and foster a sense of belonging.

The event, attended by -TUC staff and business wings of the Union, saw the presentation of items worth GH¢15,000, including food items, beverages, toiletries, and sanitary products. Mr Korankye, accompanied by his wife, family, and friends, highlighted the choice of the Dzorwulu Special School due to its status as a deprived institution, aiming to bring joy and happiness to its students.

Mr Korankye stressed the importance of sharing blessings with the less privileged, urging individuals to remember them, particularly during celebrations and milestones in life.

Responding to inquiries about his future plans post-retirement from public service and trade unionism, Mr Korankye expressed his intention to offer consultancy services to the trade union fraternity. While acknowledging his retirement at 60 as per public service regulations, he expressed a desire to provide guidance and advice to future union leadership to ensure continued growth and impact in society.

The management of Dzorwulu Special School expressed gratitude for the donation, acknowledging Mr. Korankye's dedication and motivation in his role as General Secretary of TEWU-TUC Ghana. The presentation was witnessed by several TEWU-TUC Ghana staff, including the National Chairman, Deputy General Secretary, Head of Administration, and Chief Finance Officer.

Mr Korankye's commitment to supporting the vulnerable and his plans for continued involvement in the trade union movement reflect a dedication to fostering a more inclusive and supportive society for all.
