The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has announced plans to initiate a series of dialogues involving stakeholders to address issues concerning the improvement of football in Ghana.
His remarks came during his address to Ghana's Parliament following the national team, the Black Stars', participation in the 2023 AFCON held in Cote D'Ivoire.
Ghana's early exit from the preliminary stage for the second consecutive AFCON edition sparked the Save Ghana Football demonstration, during which organizers presented a petition to members of parliament.
The petition highlighted the necessity to dissolve the committee responsible for selecting a head coach for the Black Stars and to dissolve the committees managing the national football teams.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports is cognizant of the disappointment among the Ghanaian populace and therefore intends to initiate measures that would lead to a national dialogue of all stakeholders, to devise modern and inclusive ways of managing the National Teams,” Mr. Ussif stated.
He also disclosed that $3 million of the $5 million budget allocated for the Black Stars' 2023 AFCON campaign was expended.
