Eckankar Ghana invites tourism Minister to African seminar, seeks to promote religious tourism

The Leadership of Eckankar Ghana has extended an invitation to the Minister of Tourism, Dr Ibrahim Awal, to its upcoming African Seminar scheduled to be held in from August 25 to August 27, 2023.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss the possibility of leveraging the seminar to promote religious tourism in the country.

The African Seminar is expected to attract over 7000 participants from different parts of Africa, Europe and America. Speaking about the seminar, Mr Aspect Caiquo, President of Eckankar Ghana said, “a lot of these people we are expecting have heard so much about Ghana.

They know our culture, arts, crafts and know that Ghana is the preferred tourism destination.”

He added that Eckankar, as a religious organization, has its headquarters in America, where the living ECK Master resides with his team to connect with the various regions on matters concerning Eckankar.

In Africa, the organization organizes seminars that rotate around five countries, , , and Cote Devoir. This year, Ghana has been chosen to host the conference.

During the visit, the delegation informed the Minister that the seminar focused on religious tourism, which is one of the objectives of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE).

The Minister expressed his support for the seminar, saying, “We are happy to partner with you and would get in touch with representatives from the industry even before the launch so that we work towards ensuring a successful seminar that would benefit the sector.”

Mr Akwesi Agyeman, Chief Executive Officer of the , also welcomed the news of the seminar. He indicated that his organization had been promoting MICE over the past few years, and they would support the seminar in terms of logistics.

For hotels under their regulation, they can engage them to provide excellent rates for the participants, and also arrange city tours for those coming to explore some parts of Ghana.
