Abosso Goldfields Limited NSC donates to Bompieso Municipal Assembly School: Ghana News

The 2022/2023 batch of the National Service Cohort (NSC) from Abosso Goldfields Limited (Damang Mine) has demonstrated their commitment to education by donating uniforms, teaching, and learning materials to pupils at the Bompieso Municipal Assembly School in the Municipality.

The donated items, valued at GH₵13,000.00, include sixty uniforms, exercise books, pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, rulers, whiteboards, and markers.

In addition to their generous contribution, the NSC group actively engaged with pupils across various classes.

They also organized fun games such as football, volleyball, sack races, and more to motivate and inspire the students to excel in their studies.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Samuel Hadjor, Operations Manager at Abosso Goldfields Limited, commended the 2022/2023 NSC for their dedication to helping the pupils in the operational area of the mine.

He emphasized the importance of nurturing young talents within the mining field and encouraged the students to focus on their studies with the goal of eventually contributing to the mine's future.

“We expect you pupils to come and take over from us in the future. Within the next five to ten years, we want to see some of you in the mining field,” he advised.

Mr. Hadjor also urged the group to continue their efforts in supporting underprivileged individuals not only in their communities but wherever their future endeavors may lead them.

Mr. Isaac Yankey, President of the 2022/2023 NSC, explained the motivation behind their act of kindness. “When we visited the Bompieso Municipal Assembly School, we realized they needed help.

Some pupils we identified even had tattered uniforms, so we were touched to make voluntary contributions to support them at the end of our service,” he said.

He also highlighted Abosso Goldfields Limited's various educational initiatives and projects that inspired their commitment.

Mr. Yankey expressed gratitude to AGL's management for providing them with the opportunity to assist those in need.

He appealed to individuals and organizations to follow AGL's example and contribute to improving education in host communities and beyond, aligning with government efforts.

Mr. Sebastian Atrema Diaw, the Municipal Education Director for , received the donated items on behalf of the school.

He conveyed his appreciation to the NSC group for their generosity and assured them that the items would be distributed to the pupils accordingly.
