In a bid to generate awareness and enthusiasm for the upcoming 13th Africa Games scheduled for March 2024, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) is set to bring the carnival spirit to the streets of Takoradi on Monday, December 25, 2023.
Following a successful float at the Accra Sports Stadium over the weekend, organizers are extending their regional tour to the Western Region.
The street carnival in Takoradi aims to engage the community, featuring an interactive session with sportsmen and women who excelled in previous Africa Games.
The carnival will showcase various sporting disciplines, including Armwrestling, Table Tennis, Darts, and more.
Notable figures from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Sporting Federations Heads, and government officials will join the event to both entertain and educate the public on the significance of supporting the games.
Patrons can enjoy the lively atmosphere with a brass band and anticipate the distribution of souvenirs and other exciting activities.
The carnival serves as a platform to connect the local community with the sporting excellence displayed at the Africa Games.
The 2023 Africa Games are scheduled from March 8 to March 23, 2024.
